Personal profile


Obtained both her animal science (1994) and veterinary (2003) degrees at the

University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), and remained there

whilst researching for her PhD (2008).  Completed an alternative residency in

small animal nutrition at Ghent and Utrecht University and is board certified since 2017 in veterinary nutrition by the European College of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition? (ECVCN).

It is currently assistant professor of the animal science department of the school of agrarian and veterinary sciences at UTAD and teaches animal physiology and clinical nutrition to the master in veterinary medicine students.

It is a specialist in veterinary nutrition for pets at the UTAD veterinary hospital. founder and consultant at spin-off UTAD Nut4Pet. It is the current ECVCN executive secretary and is member of the scientific committee of the European Federation of Pet Food Manufacturers (FEDIAF)
